Yves Klein’s Legacy The Color Of Blue [Infographic]
French painter Yves Klein, the founder of the Nouveau Réalisme movement, created a name for himself in the 1950s with his use of a proprietary shade of vivid blue.
Known as International Klein Blue, Klein created a pigment-based shade to use in his monochrome paintings and sculptures. His goal was to capture the “infinince” of the color blue and explore deeper meanings behind his love of monochrome.
Though Klein passed away in the early 1960s, his name and legacy live on in the contrast between his intense color and surprisingly simple style. Because of his unique approach to the creation of art, his name is still known around the world today.
Today, there is much we can learn from Yves Klein. While he was a master of minimalism and contemporary art, he inadvertently offers us lessons in personal branding as well.
