WordPress Visibility Settings – SEO Basics for Artists Selling Online
Many new bloggers get confused between the search engine visibility settings and the visibility settings found in the WordPress editor.

WordPress allows you to decide if you would like your website to be searchable from search engines or have your site not crawlable
The benefit of this feature is to allow you to work on your site and not have it scannable prior to its completion. You can also use this feature if you are planning on making some large changes to your site.
If you use this feature make sure that you uncheck the box when you want your site to go live and be searched by the search engines.
Also, if you are finding that your site is not being ranked for some reason, check to see if this feature was accidentally turned on.
You can see if your site is being ranked by Google with Google’s Search Console. Previously known as Webmaster Tools.
WordPress Visibility Settings
To visit where the WordPress Visibility Settings is located, log in to your WordPress Dashboard.
Hover over Settings on the left sidebar and click on the Reading link.
You will be redirected to the Reading Settings Page.
Scroll halfway down the page and locate Search Engine Visibility.
If the box is Checked, Uncheck it to have your site scannable from search engines.
Check the box if you would like your site not scannable from search engines.
Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click Save Changes if any changes were made.
Conclusion:
It is always best to go to the obvious solutions first if you notice any problems with your site not being searched from search engines. Your WordPress Visibility settings should be the first thing you check.
Adjusting other areas first could only prolong your ranking status.
