Are you ready to get your WordPress art blog live but do not know where to start? In this post, I will cover the WordPress General settings so you can become familiar with the options WordPress offers.

 

WordPress General Settings For Art Blogs

 

It is important for you to become familiar with the basics of your WordPress art blog. The WordPress general settings are where you will set the basic configuration settings for your art blog.

I will cover what options are available in the general setting section of your WordPress dashboard.

First, you will need to log into your WordPress dashboard.

To locate your General settings, hover over the Settings Link on the left-hand sidebar and click on General.

General Options In WordPress

 

Site Title − This displays the name of your site in the template header.

Tagline − This displays your slogan or catchphrase. Your tagline is a short sentence that will describe your art blog.

WordPress Address (URL) − It is the URL of your WordPress directory. I recommend using the same URL as your Site Address.

Site Address(URL) − Enter your site URL (domain name) which you want your site to display on the browser. This will be the address people will use in the search bar to be directed to your site.

E-mail Address − Enter your e-mail address. This will help you to recover your password or any important updates associated with your site.

Membership − This allows anyone the opportunity to register an account on your site if you check the check-box. I recommend leaving this unchecked.

New User Default Role − The default role is set for the newly registered user or members. You can leave this field as is if you are not activating the membership.

Timezone − Sets the time zone based on the particular city you reside in.

Date Format − Sets the date format you would like to display on the site.

Time Format − Sets the time format you would like to display on the site.

Week Starts On − Select the day which you prefer to start for WordPress calendar. By default, it is set as Monday. You can pick whatever day works best for your planning.

Site Language − Set the language you will use for your WordPress dashboard.

After you have finished filling out your information click the Save Changes button. This will save all your general information.
