Do you have a Pinterest Business Account yet? If you don’t you will want to continue reading. In this post, you will discover why artists should create a Pinterest Business Account if they are selling art online.
Why Artists Should Create a Pinterest Business Account
Disclaimer: Please note that some of the links on this post are affiliate links and will be clearly marked as so. I will earn a small commission when you purchase a product or service from an affiliate link at no extra cost to you which helps with the costs of operating Nevue Fine Art Marketing. I will only recommend products I have used, found helpful to my business and are companies I trust.
It was not too long ago that I decided to get serious about Pinterest. What inspired me to do so was the Social Warfare Plugin (affiliate link) I purchased. The number of shares I receive because of my Social Warfare plugin is an entirely different blog post. I will keep it short. If you are interested in increasing the number of shares your blog receive, I recommend you look into Social Warfare. (affiliate link)
After I made the decision to work on Pinterest I started learning everything I needed to know about the platform.
Within just a few months Pinterest referred more traffic to my site than all of the other social media networks combined including Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube.

Here are some more reasons why artists should create a Pinterest Business account.
1. Pinterest Business Account Required
Pinterest requires you to set up a Pinterest Business account if you are going to promote your artwork on Pinterest or are interested in driving traffic to your art blog or online art gallery with Pinterest Pins.
Here is a quote from Pinterest’s Terms and Conditions:
“Commercial use of Pinterest”
If you want to use our Products for commercial purposes you must create a business account and agree to our Business terms of service.”
2. Display Business Or Blog Name
A Pinterest Personal account only allows you to have a Fist and Last name. This makes it more difficult to build brand awareness for your art business.
When you set up your Pinterest Business account you will have a section where you will be able to add your business name or Website’s name.
3. Pinterest Business Account Features
Pinterest provides special features to help businesses using a Pinterest Business account.
You will have access to:
- Rich Pins
- Promoted Pins
- Pinterest Analytics
4. Promote On Pinterest
Pinterest allows you to promote specific pins so that more of your target audience sees them in their newsfeed. This is similar to Facebook’s “boost” feature.
There are two types of Pinterest ads. You can purchase Engagement Campaigns. You only pay when someone engages on the pin. Or you can Traffic Campaigns. You pay when someone clicks on a pin and is redirected to your site or blog.
5 Pinterest Analytics
The last benefit of opening a Pinterest Business account is for the analytics. The analytics are only available to Business accounts and will be a powerful tool for your Pinterest marketing strategy.
Pinterest tracks:
- Impressions
- Saves
- Clicks
- Demographics
- Activity from your website
Conclusion:
You might want to consider opening a Pinterest Business account for your art business.
I was hesitant at first but I am very happy I decided to.
