How To Use Tailwind SmartLoop
Below are some tips to help get you started with your Tailwind SmartLoop. Be sure to watch the in-depth video at the end of this post.
If you have not done so already, you will need to set up a Tailwind account. Click the link below and get your first 100 pins for free to try it out to see if it is a good fit for your art marketing strategy.
After you have created your Tailwind account head to the left-hand side of your Tailwind Dashboard and click on the Publisher tab and select SmartLoop.
On this page, you will be able to create different loops for your pins.
You will have the choice between creating an Evergreen Loop or a Seasonal Loop.
Evergreen Smartloops is great for your evergreen content that is relevant all year-long.
Seasonal Smartloops is perfect for seasonal and holiday content.
Naming Your Tailwind SmartLoop
Next, you will have to name your new Smartloop.
The name you create should be something that will be easy for you to remember.
For example, you might want to call a seasonal SmartLoop Christmas, Spring, Fall or whatever season or holiday you will be adding pins to promote.
Adding Boards To Your Tailwind SmartLoop
You have the choice of adding one board or multiple boards to each SmartLoop you create.
Select the boards you would like to loop click Next: Add Your Pins.
Adding Pins
At this point, you are ready to start adding pins to your new loop.
Below are the ways you can filter your content:
- By Board
- Most Popular Content
- Your Domain Only
- All Pins including other people’s content
Decide on what will be best for your Pinterest marketing strategy.
The next step is to click on the pins you would like to have in your loop. You will know that a pin is selected by a blue border around the pin you selected.
Setting Up A SmartLoop Schedule
The next step is to set up a schedule for how often you would like your loop to be pinning.
Decide on how many pins you would like to have looped per day. To get started I suggest between 1-4 pins a day. You can always adjust this at a later time.
The next step is to decide how long to wait before your pin is pinned to a different board.
After you have finished the steps outlined above click Create Loop.
Board Rules
If you are adding pins to group boards you can easily comply with each group board’s rules by creating a board rule.
To create a board rule click on the Board Rule link then click Add Board Rule.
Select which board you would like to edit and decide how often you would like your SmartLoop pins pinned to that specific board.
Click Save to save your changes.
Add New Pins To Your SmartLoop
You have the option to add new pins to your Smartloop by using the Tailwind Scheduler.
Simply click on the Add To SmartLoop when you are pinning new content to your Pinterest boards using the Tailwind schedule.
A drop-down box will appear with a list of the SmartLoops you have created.
Click on with SmartLoops you would like your content to be added to then click Add To Loops.

How To Get Rid Of Gaps In SmartLoop Schedule Tailwind
The Tailwind SmartLoop follows the board rules you have created, so if you do not have enough scheduled pins in your SmartLoop schedule, there will be empty slots, and that is not a problem at all.
The SmartLoop does not take a slot in your regular pin schedule, they actuallt add a new slot for the SmartLoop, so if there is an empty slot, that does not affect your daily pins.
