When is a good time to start your art business? The best time to start your art business is when you have a clear vision of your goals.  Once you have a clear vision of your business goals, it is time to get started.

Start Your Art Business Today

There is no better time to start your business than today.

Every day that passes by are lost opportunities. Do not allow yourself to be the person that says “I wish I did this or I wish I did that.”

We get one chance in our life, and we better make the best of it.

If you want to sell art, learn how to promote and market your art.

If you want to be known as a great painter, spend time every day enhancing your skills.

The only thing that can stop you is yourself.

Do not be afraid of taking the first step. There is nothing to fear.

There are many ways that you can start your art business with no risk or very little risk.

How can there be no risk in starting a new business?

Every business that I have started, I started while I was working on another job. I always made sure that I was generating enough income to support my family.

This dismissed most of the pressure that is associated with starting a new business. I always made sure that the bills were paid, and I had food on the table.

You will be working a lot of hours during the week if you would like to start a business with no risks.

But the end result is very rewarding.

Be Patient

I have been Self-employed for over 25 years. I know how long it takes to build a business.

One way to fail at starting a new business is by not having enough revenue. That is why I believe starting an art business should be a part-time job until the income from your new business equals your full-time income.

The second way to fail at a new business is not to give it the time that it needs to grow. You must have the patience to work at it until you reach your goals.

There is no fast lane that you can take to build your business. Building an audience and their trust takes time. If you are patient, and you are not relying on the income of your new business to live, you will be able to build a successful art business.

Believe in Your Dreams

Believe in your dreams and the ability that you have to make them happen. Most people are afraid of trying something new because they have a fear of failing.

Others are afraid of what others might say. The only people who need to believe in your dreams is you and your family.

Your family will be living your dreams with you.

How Does Someone Fail

Is it failing when something does not go as planned?

Is that failing or is that a learning experience?

When a toddler learns how to walk should they quit the first time they fall?

Are they failing because they fell or are they learning the skill of walking?

The only time someone fails is when they stop trying. It is as simple as that. You fail when you stop trying. Everything else is a learning curve that will make you and your business stronger.

If you want to succeed at anything in life you must be willing to learn.

Do not think that your thoughts and plans are the only way that a job can be done. Keep your eyes wide open to learn. If you can better your business with change, you better start making the change.

Look at every day as a learning experience. You will try things that will work for you and things that will not work for you.

Your priority is to focus on the areas that are working while discarding strategies that are not working. You do not want to waste your energy on a plan that is not building your business.

Assess Your Progress

Even though you will need patience while you are building your business, there are ways to make it grow quicker. You will want to sit down with your goals and write out a plan.

Every week you will want to analyze the results of your marketing strategies. The areas that are working are where you will want to spend more time on. Come up with a different marketing plan for the areas that are not working.

I recommend focusing on only two or three strategies at any given time. If you try to work on too many marketing strategies at once, you will not be able to provide the energy required to make it successful.

To make planning easier I have developed this printable planner system. It has everything you will need to keep your business organized.

Conclusion:

Two things that you will want to do before diving into your business is to talk to a legal professional about starting an art business in your area and find out what is required from you and talk to your accountant.

After you have done that, start writing your goals and develop strategies to help you achieve your dreams.
