6 Social Media Marketing Tools for Visual Artist
You know that if you would like to sell your art online, you must spend time promoting and marketing. The problem is there are too many ways you can promote your art online, and there are only twenty-four hours in a day. You still need to find time to be in the studio.
The good news is some tools will help save time with your marketing strategy, and most of them are free.
Here are some of my favorite social media marketing tools I use on a regular basis.
Google Analytics
Google Analytics is a free powerful tool provided by Google. The information that you gather from Google Analytics will help you to understand what your audience is interested in and how they are reaching your site.
What you will learn:
- Audience Interests
- Geographic
- Gender
- Age
- Behavior
- Post Results
- How your audience landed on your site and the path they took
- Top social media sites that drive traffic to your site
These are just a few statistics you will be able to observe to help you make a more effective marketing plan.

Search Console
Search Console is another free powerful Google tool you should be using if you have a website or blog. You will be able to learn how to optimize your site for SEO.
What You Will Learn:
- You will be notified of any issues your sites have that will need addressing.
- Search Analytics
- Links to your site
- Internal links
- Manual actions
- International targeting
- Mobile usability
- Google index
BuzzSumo
BuzzSummo has a free and paid membership. The paid membership is relatively expensive ranging from $99.00 to $699.00 per month. The free membership still provides valuable information.
BuzzSumo is an efficient way for you to identify, analyze and research what is happening in your niche in real-time. This will help save you valuable time searching around on all of your social sites trying to find out what is trending.
Do you take advantage of Facebook’s Publishing Schedule? You might want to consider using it if you don’t. Facebook allows you to schedule posts weeks or even months ahead of time. Think about how much time during the day you will save. Saving a few minutes here and there will start to add up. Those saved minutes could be extra time in the studio.
Facebook also has a Stop News Feed Distribution which allows you to select a time and date for when you want your posts to stop being delivered to News Feeds. Your post will still be visible on your Page. This might be a helpful tool for when you are planning an event or if you are promoting a sale.
You can find Facebook’s publishing schedule by clicking on the arrow to the right of the Publish button.
Buffer
Buffer is a social sharing app that offers a free and paid membership. You will be able to schedule posts to Twitter, Pinterest, Facebook, and Instagram. I only use Buffer for scheduling Twitter posts, so the free version works fine for me. I have heard great reviews from people who have paid membership.
Canva
Images are important for social media, especially since you are trying to use social media to promote your artwork. Canva is a free online image editor that makes sizing images for different platforms a breeze. They provide templates for the most popular social media site. Every social media site uses different image dimensions. You will not have to remember all of the dimensions and spend time cropping images. Canva takes care of that for you.
Conclusion:
There is more than just these 6 social media marketing tools available that will help make your days a little less stressful. Try these six tools out and tell me your thoughts. The two that I recommend everyone to use are Google Analytics and Search Counsel.
