There are so many social media networks available to help businesses build brand awareness. The problem that arises is that there will not be enough hours in a day to work on all of them efficiently, especially if you are the only person working in the business. To see results from your time and efforts, you will need to develop a social media marketing strategy that will show you the results you envision.
I am going to share with you some steps that you can take to ensure that your social media marketing strategy starts to work from day one.
Social Media Marketing Strategy
I am sure by now you are starting to see a pattern. When you have goals, you will see success. Developing a social media marketing strategy is no different. You need to have a clear vision of what you would like to achieve.
I would like to take this time again to offer you my free course, How to Write Goals if you struggle in this area. Many people have asked me, “Why am I offering such a valuable course for free?” The truth is I want nothing more than to see you succeed and for you to reach your goals. Dreams can come true if you follow the right path. So, before you read further, take the course. It will not take long, and once you complete it, you will be ready to achieve your dreams.
I suggest that you set a different goal for each social media site you are planning to use for marketing. Every social media platform has different strengths. Take advantage of that.
A few goals that all business should include are driving traffic to a landing page or website, build an email list and increase brand awareness. If you have already taken the free course “How to Write Goals” you have learned that your goals need to be specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and timely.
With an abundance of social networks to choose from you can easily find yourself overwhelmed. If you tried to work with all of the different social networks at the same time, you would not see any results unless you were able to hire someone to do the job for you. There would not be enough time in the day for you to create the amount of content you would need to publish, and don’t forget you do need to spend some time in the studio.
Instead of working with multiple social networks make the most out of one or two, maybe even three. Take some time to look at each and decide what you would enjoy working with. If you do not like to work with a particular platform, you will not provide your best work. In fact, you could even jeopardize your brand. Find something that you will love to work with and start there.
You can find yourself losing a lot of time and money if you do not understand who your target audience is. Create a picture of who your ideal customer is. This is also known as a buyer persona. Demographics, behavior, motivations, struggles and financial status should be included in your buyer persona. Knowing who your target audience is will save you valuable time and money.
Locating and communicating with your ideal customer will become easier the more you know about them. Study their language and interests. Provide them with content they will enjoy and be social. Be a good listener.
Research Your Competition
Social media makes it easy for companies to keep an eye on their competition and allows you to see what is working so you can incorporate those tactics into your marketing program.
First, you will want to find between five and ten artists that have the same style that you have. Discover which social networks they are working with and analyze what type of content they are providing and what receives the most engagement.
You will also want to take note of how often and what time of the day they are posting.

Create Great Content
Great content and social media compliment each other for businesses. If a company does not produce great, eye-catching content, the content will not be shared, liked or commented on. When a company provides motivational and inspirational content, social media will help spread it to the world.
Spend some time learning how to create content that people will be willing to share. Creating great content does not happen overnight. It will take time just like learning how to create the artwork that you do. The more that you write the faster and better you will become. The old saying, “Practice makes perfect” applies to writing as well. Strive to make every article that you write better than the last one.
