Taking A Break Lion Cub Pastel Painting Prints
Original Pastel Painting by Dave Nevue
Lion cubs are born with tawny black spots which eventually disappear as they grow older. When it is time to give birth a lioness leaves her pride and has her lion cubs in dense cover. Cubs remain hidden for one to two months before being introduced to the rest of the pride. Source: Africa Wildlife Detective
This is the 2nd Pastel painting for a series of Big Cats.
I chose this image (reference image courtesy of Wildlife Reference Photos) because of how innocent and curious this beautiful cub looks resting on a log.
The soft yellows, oranges, and browns in her fur look as if they are glowing with the dark background.
Her soft blue eyes tell you precisely what she is thinking.
This pastel painting was created on PastelMat with PanPastels, Pestel Pencils, and Soft Pastel Sticks.
Prints will be printed and processed at Fine Art America.
Multiple sizes and merchandise are available.
