Pinterest Introduces New Sections Feature

Did you hear the news? Pinterest introduces new Sections Feature.

This is exciting news for marketers and artists selling art online.

Here is what I have learned about the new “Section” feature Pinterest is planning on launching soon.

Pinterest Introduces New Sections Feature

According to Sarah Perez’s post, Pinterest’s new Sections feature begins beta testing, public launch in ‘weeks’

Here is what Sarah had to say:

Sections was recently launched into beta testing, but hasn’t made its way to all of Pinterest’s users at this time. And it may change a bit between now and its public debut as the company responds to the feedback from its early adopters.

“It’s been a really popular feature request for years,” said Silbermann, when we chatted with him backstage at Disrupt about why Pinterest created this new option. “A lot of people create a board, and then after they create it, they want to add structure to it,” he explains.

What Is Pinterest’s New Section Feature

This new feature will allow users to create sub-groups for a specific boards theme.

For example, if you have a board called “Flower Oil Paintings” you will be able to create subcategories for specific types of flowers like, “Red Rose Paintings”, “Black Eyed Susan Paintings or “Daisy Paintings”.

This will make it easier for your audience to find exactly what they are searching for.

When you make it easy for your followers to find the art they are interested in it will help to increase your sales.

Sections will also help you to create a structure for your boards and make it a more pleasant buying experience for your art collectors.

You have to be careful when you are creating “Sections” for your boards. If you do not plan ahead of time you could find your boards becoming a mess and your audience will just leave.

Take the time now to develop a Pinterest marketing strategy, your goal is to keep your audience coming back for more.

When Will Sections Be Available To Pinterest Users

Sara also mentioned,

However, the public launch is not too far out – a matter of “weeks” not “months,” we’re told.

I am sure that this new feature will be a hit and will be available to you soon. I will let you know once I hear of a launch date. For now take the time to think of a strategy that will help you to keep your audience on your site longer, drive more traffic to your art blog and increase your art sales.

This is some exciting news that I think can be very rewarding for artists.

Today Pinterest introduces new Sections Feature, what will tomorrow bring us?

Conclusion:

Social media is constantly changing. Not all of the changes will help you to grow your art business or help you to sell more art.

The best strategy is to become aware of the changes and decide if they will benefit your business.
