Are you ready to start building brand awareness on Pinterest? In this article, you will discover useful Pinterest Business tips you can start implementing today.
Why You Should Focus on Pinterest for Your Marketing Strategy
Many social media platforms will help you reach a new audience. The goal for any business is to be seen. Once you have grabbed someone’s attention, you will be able to start building a relationship with them.
The downside of all these platforms is you will never be able to maximize the benefits on all of them unless you are lucky enough to generate enough revenue where you can hire a social media team. Therefore you should choose which platforms will produce the best results for you.
Pinterest Business Tips For Artists and Crafters
Today I would like to share some benefits of using Pinterest as a tool to help build your business.
I am going to highlight some statistics I wrote about in 4 Pinterest Marketing Benefits for Visual Artists.
- Statista states that in 2017 Pinterest is projected to reach 58.5 million monthly active users and in 2018 the site is expected to reach over 49 million female users in the United States alone.
- Pinterest is starting to attract more men to the platform, in fact, the number of male monthly users have grown by over 110% in one year.
- Pinterest for Business stated that according to Millward Brown, over 90% of people on Pinterest had used Pinterest to plan for or make a purchase. Over 50% of them have seen something that they liked and made a purchase. Those are some solid statistics for business owners.
I never gave Pinterest a fair shot. I keep reading how important Pinterest is for building brand awareness for small businesses I decided to give it a try.
I had a business account earlier on, but I did not use it correctly. I would pin posts and forget about it. The outcome was equal to my efforts. I was generating no traffic to my site.
I have been doing some research on how to properly use Pinterest for small businesses, and after only one month I have started to see some amazing results.
Here are the statistics of my Pinterest Analytics after one month.
Avg. Daily Pinterest Profile Impressions – increased over 27% to 658 impressions a day.
Avg. Daily Viewers – increased over 38% to 443 viewers a day.
Avg. Monthly Views – increased over 87%.
Avg. Monthly Engagement – increased over 86%.
Activity from Nevue Fine Art Marketing increased as well.
These are impressive numbers. However, when you start something from the beginning, you will notice larger increases in the statistics.
I will share the statistics in thirty days from the date of this post being published so you can see how well the statistics play out.

Pinterest Boards
When you have finished optimizing your profile, spend some time creating boards that will represent your business.
If you had a personal account for some time before converting it to a Business account, you might want to consider deleting any boards that do not relate to your business.
Deleting and rearranging Pinterest boards is easy to do and you can find more information on how to do this task with a video at Daily Action Plan Pinterest Sweep.
Optimize Pinterest Images
Pinterest is a visual social media platform. You will need to create beautiful eye-catching images to catch someone’s attention.
After you have their attention, they will either repin, like or visit the link the image is linked to.
You as an artist have the upper hand over the other pinners. Use your creative side to make breathtaking images that people will have to click on.

Pinterest Business Tips Next Thirty Days
- Images
- Optimize Board Titles and Descriptions
- Share Relevant Content
- Join Groups
Images
Over the next thirty days, I will be reviewing my older posts and creating pin-worthy images. Because this website has over 500 posts, I will visit Google Analytics and start with the most popular posts and work down from there.
Optimize Board Titles and Descriptions
Pinterest is more than just a social media platform. It is also a search engine. Many people will go to Pinterest’s search bar and search for recipes, DIY projects, crafts, and home décor.
Going to Pinterest just to look at pretty pictures is a thing of the past. Pinterest has grown to be a place where people will go to search for quality content.
Just like optimizing your blog posts for Google, you will also have to include keywords in your Pinterest board titles and pin descriptions.
You will notice the boards that are at the top of the search are the ones with keywords right in the title.
Pin Relevant Content
A good way to gain followers and have people revisit your boards is by filling your boards with quality content. This can be done with content you create as well as content you find relevant from other sites.
If you are going to pin other content to your boards, make sure they relate to your brand.
Join Groups
Many people have done well with joining groups. You can pin your content to group boards and reach a larger audience.
You will have to ask the creator of the board if you could join the group. Review all of the rules for the group before you start pinning content. Each group will have different rules so it might a good idea to keep a log of boards and regulations you are involved with.
