This is a great time to make a name for your art business. With a little effort you can make someone’s holiday shopping a wonderful experience.
I want to share with you some tips on how to package your artwork during the holiday season.
Packaging Your Art for the Holidays
Most of the art that you sell at this time is for gift giving. Why not make it a special season for the buyer as well.
Package your art like it is a gift. Wrap it in some nice tissue paper. You can find some holiday colored tissue paper relatively inexpensive.
Put ribbon around the wrapped artwork. Ribbon is also relatively inexpensive. When the buyer opens the package they are going to feel as if it is a gift for them. You have to wrap the art anyway, why not take the extra step and make a customer remember you. I am sure that your name will be brought up at holiday parties.
Extra Thank You
Every time that you ship your artwork you should include a few business cards. During the holiday season include a handwritten thank you note on a greeting card with your art work on it.
You can get greeting cards online with your artwork on it. This is an easy way to give extra thanks to the buyer. They might even put your card on display for everyone to see.
Go the Extra Mile
If you go the extra mile during the holiday season you have a great chance of gaining a loyal customer. The holidays are fast paced and hectic for everyone. The stores are crowded. Many people purchase gifts online. Packages will be coming in nonstop or emails stating items are out of stock. If you can have your package stand out and make it an easy transaction you will be remembered.
Here is a way you can go an extra mile. Have a calendar printed with next year’s date showcasing your artwork on it. Most places that offer greeting cards also offer calendars.
If you do all of this you are making this a very personal order. It will not feel like every other order from a large retail store.
In total you are spending less than $20.00 to gain a loyal customer that will see your artwork every day for the next year. If you shop around you can even spend less. I think the extra step is well worth the money invested.
