Are you having a difficult time reaching your following on Facebook? I have some bad news, it is only going to get worse. In this post, you will discover how to keep up with Facebook’s changes.

You might have already heard about Facebook’s new plans.

They are going to affect how you reach your audience on Facebook and the changes are going to happen in the near future.

How can you adapt to the changes and still make Facebook work for your art business?

Facebook’s Changes

Lets first take a look at what Facebook is planning to do in 2018.

Here is a summary of what is going to change:

  • Less public content will be in the newsfeeds.
  • Fewer videos and posts from Business Pages will be shown in newsfeeds.
  • Business Page referral traffic, organic reach and video watch time will decrease.

Facebook’s algorithm will change. Posts will be ranked according to conversations and meaningful interactions between people. You will need more than just likes and shares to have your posts be displayed in people’s newsfeeds.

New Facebook Marketing Strategies

Here are some strategies you might want to consider trying.

  • Create valuable content that stimulates conversation
  • Start a Facebook live video strategy. Facebook states that live video increases interaction by 6x.
  • Post less frequently. Make each post count.
  • Use Facebook ads.
  • Do not ask for comments, shares or likes on your posts. Facebook frowns on this and posts that have engagement bait will be demoted in newsfeeds.

Action Step:

Continue doing what you are doing if it is working.

If you find that you are losing reach, make one change at a time and assess the results.

You might have to start thinking differently when you are marketing on Facebook.

Conclusion:

You have probably already seen a decline in your Facebook’s Business Page reach.

One thing is for sure, this will not be the last major change Facebook makes.

They will continue to evolve and do what they think is right for their business.

With that, you have to think about what is best for your business.

If Facebook is working for you, continue to use Facebook to build brand awareness.

If you are seeing a decline in reach, try a different strategy or decide if there is a better way for you to reach your audience.

I will be keeping you up-to-date with any new news I hear about Facebook so you can make better decisions for your business.
