Instagram is a visual social media platform, but it also allows provides you space where you can describe your posts.
This is valuable real estate you will want to take advantage of.
I see so many artists who post an image of their art and do not explain the art I am looking at.
At that point, I scroll down to the next post.
I must be honest that there are many times I drop the ball here to.
There are many times when I am strapped for time, and I post something just to publish a post.
This is not a good practice, and it does nothing to build my Instagram audience or increase my sales.
I am now forcing myself to only post on Instagram when I have time to write about the image I am sharing.
The caption does not have to belong, but it should be catchy.
Letting people know more about your art will connect them to your work, which will, in turn, them into loyal collectors of your artwork.

But what hashtags should you use for your posts?
To get started, type in keywords that represent your art and, you will see a list of hashtags that are popular.
Search for artists who have a large following and see what hashtags they are using.
Make a list of all the hashtags that describe your art and art business.
The next step is to test which ones provide the best results for you. This will take some time, but before you know it, you will have a list of hashtags that will build your following.
I also take advantage of Tailwind’s Hashtag Finder. Tailwind makes it easy to find the perfect hashtags for your Instagram posts.
