Are frustrated because you are trying to build your online art business but you just don’t have the time to put into some of the complex strategies you have been learning about?
I felt the same way you are feeling when I started selling art online. It just seemed like there was so much to do and not enough time to get it all done.
As time went by I realized that building an online art business does not happen overnight. It takes time to build brand awareness and grow an audience.

I also realized that everything I do today will affect the growth of my business in the future.
That is when I developed a 15-minute art marketing strategy that would focus on specific areas of the business like website performance, social media marketing, email marketing, content marketing etc.
You can easily see how working on all of the areas of your art business could be a fulltime job but if you devote just 15 minutes a day on each category you will only need to spend an hour or two a day.
15 Minute Tips To Improve Your Artist Website
Below are 7 strategies that improve will your artist website and increase your traffic.
Brainstorm Blog Topic
The content you write for your artist website will provide multiple ways for people to find your site.
Every post you publish will provide keywords that will help Google and other search engines to understand what your site has to offer. When a person is searching online for products and information your website provides, Google and other search engines will suggest your site.
Every post you publish will produce a new way for someone to discover you.
The easiest way to stay consistent with your art blog is to have a list of ideas you will be writing about.
Nothing wastes time more than sitting in front of a blank screen trying to decide what to write about.
Take 10 or 15 minutes and create a list of topic ideas to write about. If you do this once a week you will never run out of ideas.
Optimize Your Top 3 Posts
You can discover posts are receiving the most traffic by visiting your Google Analytics.
Google Analytics is a free powerful tool that will show you how your site is performing and provide you with valuable information about your audience.
Below are some videos that will help you learn the basics about your Google analytics.
After you have a list of your top 3 posts, review them and think of different ways you can optimize them.
Optimize Post Examples:
- Provide Inbound links to other articles
- Improve your call-to-action
- Create Pinterest Share Images
Update Low Traffic Posts
Not every post you write will generate thousands of monthly page views.
The great thing about blogging is that you can revise your posts at any given time.
Visit your Google Analytics and make a list of your lowest performing posts and spend a few minutes revising them.
Try different keyword phrases, update the images, add a video, or improve the title. There are many reasons why a post might not be performing well. If you keep chipping away at it you might find that someday it might become one of your highest traffic generating posts.
Optimize Your Email Opt-in
Your email list will be your biggest asset to your art business.
So many artists work so hard at generating traffic to their site but they fall short for when it is time to build their email list.
An email opt-in form is one of the easiest ways to build your list.
Popular Email Opt-in Plugins:

Update FAQ And Policies Pages
Take a few minutes to review your FAQ and Policies pages to make sure that they are up-to-date.
Make any necessary changes.
If you find that your audience is asking the same questions over and over add it to your FAQ page. This will reduce the emails you will be receiving.
Schedule Next Week’s Pins
Pinterest is a great way for you to drive traffic to your site. In fact, I receive more traffic from Pinterest than all of the other social media accounts I promote my art and blog posts combined.
When I started using Pinterest I would visit Pinterest several times throughout the day to pin to my boards but then I discovered Tailwind. (affiliate link)
It only takes me 5-10 minutes a week to pin 15 pins a day to my boards with Tailwind.
Review Past Week’s Analytics
The last tip I would like to talk about is, in my opinion, the most important task you will be doing every week and that is reviewing the results of your site.
The only way that you can grow your art business online while saving time doing so is to have a clear understanding of what is working for you and what is falling flat.
Take 10 minutes to view your Google analytics.
- % New Sessions
- Avg. Session Duration
- Bounce Rate
- Page views
- Top 3 posts
- Worst 3 posts
The information you gather will help you to make better marketing decisions in the future.
The 7 tips I outlined above are designed to help you optimize your artist website so you can build a larger audience and sell more art.
Don’t expect to build a site and sit back and watch it grow. You will have to put in the work but if you plan properly you will not have to spend a lot of time each day on your site.
15-30 minutes a day will produce great results.
It takes more than a nice artist website design to sell art online.
