I have also talked about how to use Tailwind Tribes to build brand awareness and how to review Tailwind’s Analytics so that you have a clear understanding of what strategies are working best for you.
In today’s post, I am going to cover Tailwind’s Smart Schedule so you can feel confident that your pins are being posted at the best times. And best of all you will be saving hours out of your week by scheduling once a week instead of pinning manually throughout the day.
Scheduling Pins And Tailwind’s Time Slots
Tailwind has a sophisticated Smart Feed that is made up of time slots based on the activity of your Pinterest followers in order to maximize the amount of engagement and repins your content receives on your Pinterest boards.
Click the Your Schedule link on the sidebar to view your Tailwind’s Smart Scheduler.
This is where you will be able to customize the days and times you’d like Tailwind to automatically publish Pins in your Queue.
It takes time for Tailwind to learn what is working best for your Pinterest followers so I suggest that you click the Generate New Smart Schedule once a month for the first few months.
Doing so will create a schedule that will maximize the amount of engagement and repins your content receives on your Pinterest boards.
A pop-up will appear after clicking on the Generate New Smart Schedule which will allow you to re-create a brand new Smart Schedule from scratch which they will generate new optimized Timeslots for you using your Pinterest data to determine when your audience is most likely to be engaged.
You will have to decide on how many pins per day you would like to publish content in order to generate a new Smart Schedule. After you have decided on how many pins per day you would like to publish content click Generate New Schedule.
I suggest that you start with 5 times a day until you become familiar with your Tailwind Smart Schedule.
After a couple of weeks ad a pin per day and analyze the results. Continue this process until you have the perfect number of pins per day for your business goals.
You will also have to option to edit a specific time by clicking on a time in green or you can add a time that is suggested by Tailwind.
You can see all of your pins that you have scheduled in the Tailwind dashboard queue by clicking on the Scheduled Pins link on the sidebar.
On this page, you will be able to view and edit your scheduled pins.
On the right of the page, you will be able to view your daily schedule where you will have the option to rearrange your pins by dragging and dropping or you can shuffle queue.
You can shuffle your pins as many times as you wish and it is a good idea to do so if you are pinning the same pin to multiple boards so you do not violate Pinterest’s spamming rules.
Tailwind’s Interval Feature
The interval feature is one of my favorite features Tailwind has to offer.
Instead of filling up your schedule with the same pins to different boards and using the shuffle feature you can schedule the same pin to several boards using the interval feature.
This will save you a tremendous amount of time throughout the week scheduling your Pinterest pins.
The interval feature allows you to schedule your pins to multiple boards with a specified amount of time between each pin.
For example, if you are pinning one of your pins to 10 different boards, the interval feature allows you to pin one of those boars every 5 hours 15 hours 24 hours 2 days or whatever length of time you decide.
When you use the interval feature your pins will be put into your scheduled queue you have created and will space them out according to the interval you have chosen.
This feature makes it easy for you to follow the Pinterest’s spam rules.
The pins scheduled by the interval feature will be locked in place which means that if you use the shuffle feature those locked pins will not be affected. You will see a Lock Icon over the locked pins and you can always unlock the pin if you wish to.
To use the internal feature simply add as many boards you would like to have your pin pinned to, click on the Set Interval link, select the minimum amount of time between each pin via the slider and click the Set Interval link.
After clicking the Set Interval link you will be able to view when the pins will be published on the Schedule Preview.
You also have the option to customize the intervals even further by using the Open Time Slots, Optimize and Exact links.
Open Time Slots – Pins for each board will look for and fill in available time slots coming up in your schedule, making sure that each subsequent slot complies with your minimum interval.
Optimized – Pins to each board will be scheduled at optimized times outside of your existing schedule. The new optimized times will appear as manual time slots.
Exact – Scheduled pins to each board at the exact interval you set, regardless of a time slot actually being available at that time. If no slot exists for a pin’s exact interval time it will appear as a manual time slot.
Become Familiar With Tailwind’s Features
It is a good idea to get familiar with all of the features Tailwind has to offer. Start slow and refer back to my earlier posts so you can learn how to maximize the tool according to your art business goals.
I recommend to start with only 5 pins per day and fill up the Smart schedule for a week with a mix of your content and other content that compliments your brand.
After a couple of weeks start to add a couple more pins each day and analyze what is working for you. Keep doing this until you have found the perfect amount of daily pins for your Pinterest account.
