Are you ready to take your artist Facebook Business Page to the next level? In this post, you will learn how to create a Facebook Cover Video so you can connect with your following on a whole new level.
Facebook Cover Video
It is finally here! Facebook now allows pages to create a Facebook Cover Video. This allows you to connect with your audience on a personal level.
Guidelines for Facebook Cover Videos
There are not many guidelines that Facebook has outlined as of yet. I recommend keeping an eye on Facebooks’ Page Guidelines for any changes.
As of now, this is what I have for you:
Video Length – Between 20 and 90 seconds.
The video should be at least 820 pixels x 312 pixels.
The video should not be misleading. The content should represent what your page has to offer.
That is about it for now. I am sure there will be some changes in the near future when these videos become more popular.
How to Know if You Have the Facebook Cover Video Option?
Since Facebook video covers are new, some people might not have access to them yet.
To find out if you can create a Facebook cover video log into your Facebook page.
On the top left of your Facebook cover, you will see an icon that changes between a camera and a video camera. Click on the video camera icon.
A drop-down menu will appear giving you the options to:
- Choose From Photos
- Choose From Video
- Upload Photo/Video
If you have the option to upload a video, you can create a Facebook cover video.
I am sure that the people who do not have this feature will soon have it accessible.
“Update (8/15/17): Facebook cover videos have become more reliable, however, some users are still experiencing problems. Facebook has begun rolling out their next new feature, round profile pictures in the news feed, as of 8/15/17. This could create some confusion for page admins as profile pictures will begin being cropped to circles and will likely need to be adjusted. For the full story of what we know so far about the next big Facebook change check out our latest article on round profile pictures!”
If you are discovering problems be patient while Facebook fixes all of the bugs.
Tips for Making Video Covers
The video can not be over 90 seconds so make every second count.
Record the video with a resolution of 1080p.
Note: Some of the videos you upload will be clipped to fit the Facebook cover. Keep everything that is important in the middle of the video.
How to Add Cover Video to a Facebook Page
After you have created your video, download it to your PC.
Login to your Facebook Page from your PC. As of now, you will not be able to upload a Facebook video cover from a mobile device. I am sure Facebook will eventually allow you to upload and edit cover videos via mobile devices until then you will have to log into Facebook from your PC.
Click on the Video Icon on the top of your cover image.
Select Upload Photo/Video from the drop-down menu.
Select the video you have saved on your PC.
After your video has been uploaded, reposition it by dragging and dropping the video.
When you are done repositioning your video click Next.
The last step is to choose a thumbnail from a selection of frames.
When you have finished choosing a thumbnail click Publish.
Congratulations you now have a Facebook Cover Video.
