Is Tailwind Worth It
Would you like to make money by selling your artwork online? Are you finding it challenging to get visitors to your artist website? In this post, I will share some practical tips on how I sell my art online with Tailwind.
How I Sell My Art Online With Tailwind
I have spent many hours over the years studying why some artists succeed or fail.
One common trait successful artists have in common is the time they put into planning for their success.
Every artist I have talked to who is doing very well selling their art online told me that they had a clear vision of what they wanted, set goals, and took action.
It takes more than creating amazing art to create a successful online art business.
Unfortunately, it does not matter how beautiful your art is. If you do not have a plan and a strategy on how you will market and deliver your artwork to your target audience, you will only be creating art for your walls.
In this post, I want to talk about Tailwind’s social sharing tool that will save you time promoting your artwork on Pinterest and Instagram.
Tailwind is not a magic pill that will sell your art.
Tailwind is a social sharing tool (and more) that makes it easier to build brand awareness on Pinterest and Instagram.
Before you can start to see any real results, you will need to take a few minutes to develop a plan, know your objectives, write goals and create strategies that will have you achieve your goals.
If you haven’t done so already, take a few minutes to write a plan, your art business’s success depends on it.

When Is The Best Time To Pin
Did you ever wonder when you should be pinning on Pinterest or posting on Instagram?
Tailwind has solved that problem for you.
This Pinterest scheduling tool uses a Smart Scheduler that helps you to pin at the best time.
Before I started using Tailwind, I would try to visit Pinterest at different times throughout the day hoping I would get my content in front of my audience.
Not only was I missing the mark before I started using Tailwind but I was also wasting time by stopping what I was doing to pin on Pinterest.
Tailwind’s Smart Scheduler’s Features:
- Recommended times to post to maximize engagement.
- Automatically optimizes your pinning schedule over time so you do not have to A/B test your strategy.
A/B testing (also known as split testing or bucket testing) is a method of comparing two versions of a webpage or app against each other to determine which one performs better. (Source: Optimizely )
- You can schedule pins faster by dragging and dropping pins to an automatically optimized queue.
- Manually choose custom dates and times.
Instead of going to Pinterest several times throughout the day, I schedule all of my pins a month in advance.
This allows me to make a daily presence on Pinterest will little effort.
I decided to try Tailwind because I am continually looking for ways to manage my time better.
I had no idea how much my Pinterest reach would increase by using Tailwind. This was one of the best investments I have made for my online art business.
Here is a screenshot of my Pinterest Analytics, showing the growth of my Pinterest Business Account.
Within one month, I gained 309 followers, 571 pins, 2,200 repins, 1 comment.
So how do I sell my art online with Tailwind?
Tailwind has increased the traffic to my artist website, helped me reach a new audience, built an online presence, and saved time every month scheduling pins, which allows me to create more art to sell.
Pinterest Marketing Strategies
Have you ever said to yourself, I wish I knew back then what I know now?
I never gave Pinterest a second thought when developing a marketing strategy that would drive traffic to my art blog.
Why am I so concerned about driving traffic to my site?
Traffic sells.
The more people who visit my site, the better my chance of landing a sale becomes.
Would you like to sell original art online or sell art prints online?
If you answer yes to the above question, your main objective is to develop strategies to drive traffic to your art listings.
How do you drive traffic to an artist’s website?
The first step is to write keyword-rich content (blogging) that is valuable to your target audience.
The second step is to write a strong call-to-action that will guide your readers to take action that compliments your goals.
For example, if your goal is to sell more paintings, your call-to-action will be something like, “Click Here to see more art you would love.”
The link you provide will guide the reader to your online art gallery to see your art collection and make a purchase.
The third step is to develop strategies that will drive traffic to your listings.
In time, most of your traffic will come from search engines, but it does take time for websites and blogs to be ranked in the search results.
While you are waiting for your blog to be ranked in the search results, you can speed up the process by promoting your posts on your social media accounts like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. You will also want to promote your blog posts on Pinterest.
I did not use Pinterest from the start, and I wish that I have.
Within three months of starting my Pinterest Business Account and installing Social Warfare (social media share WordPress plugin), my art blog traffic increased over 300%.
From that point on, I was hooked on Pinterest. All of my energy was to learn how to build a successful Pinterest business account.

Pinterest Tips For Beginners
There are many tools available for you to help you build brand awareness online like Facebook, WordPress Blogs, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Email, and Pinterest just to name a few.
If you want to see results from the tools you will have to take some time to learn how to use the tools effectively.
You will have to develop different marketing strategies for each tool you use.
Here are just a few tips that will help you to excel on Pinterest:
- Pin your blog posts on multiple boards
- Have a board assigned specifically for your blog posts
- Pin content from other websites that is valuable for your audience
- Pin 20-25 pins a day
The tips listed above are some basic strategies you will want to implement daily, which is where Tailwind comes in to make your work easier.
You can use Tailwind to build a schedule filled with your content as well as pins from other websites and blogs.
Tailwind will post our pins at the most optimal times. In just a short amount of time, you will see your Pinterest impressions and blog traffic increase.
Pinning multiple pins throughout the day is a strategy that has been proven to work.
Before I started to use Tailwind I would try to visit Pinterest several times throughout the day to pin content on my boards.
The problem I faced was I was not able to strategically pin at the most optimal times throughout the day. I also became burnt out trying to keep up with all of the pins I would have to manually pin.
I just did not have the time to keep up with Pinterest, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Emails, blogging, and creating art. There were just not enough hours in the day.
Like I have said earlier in this post, I always strive to learn ways to get more done in less time.
Tailwind is a tool I have learned about that not only saved me a ton of time but also increased my Pinterest impressions and blog traffic. It was a win-win discovery.
