Are you frustrated because your artist blog is not receiving any traffic? In this post discover why consistent blogging drives more traffic to your artist blog.

Consistent Blogging Drives More Traffic

If you are like most artists, you probably do not like to sit at your computer and write blog posts.

I am sure you would rather be in the art studio creating.

The problem we face is that there is more to selling art than just creating it.

Selling art online takes a lot of work. Developing brand awareness and making an online presence is imperative for having your artwork seen online.

How to Build Brand Awareness

Building brand awareness is easier than you might think.

All you have to focus on is ranking higher in the search engines and have people engage with your social media posts.

How do artists build brand awareness?

All of the artists you discover in the search engines are there because they are creating content. They own an artist blog and they post content on a consistent schedule.

The most important tool you will have for your online art business is you artist blog.

Lindsy Kolowich wrote an excellent article on HubSpot that explained how blogging enhances traffic to a website. According to the 2015 blogging data, businesses received over 95% more inbound links from blogging than from businesses that did not blog.

HubSpot’s data shows that blogging increases traffic to business websites.

“Companies that posted 16 or more articles a month received over 3X more traffic than a business that posted less than four articles a month.

Small businesses that post just over ten posts a month receive three times the amount of traffic compared to the same sized companies that post five or less a month.” According to HubSpot

These statistics show the importance of consistency blogging and that consumers want to read about products they are considering to purchase.

How Does Consistent Blogging Boost SEO?

SEO (Search Engine Optimization) simply means making your site easy to be found by Google. Search Engine Optimization is you to explain what your site is about to the search engines.

Your artist website and blog posts will never rank high in the search engines if you do not focus on SEO basics. Bottom line, your artist blog will receive very low or no organic traffic.

Writing articles generate keywords. The keywords are the words that your readers are typing into the search bar so they can find information on a topic that they are interested in.

To put it simply, if you have a hundred posts, you will 90 more keywords that a business that only has ten posts. Your chances of being found on the internet are significantly increased over your competitors that are not blogging on a regular basis.

How does consistent blogging help SEO?

Keywords are the fundamental component of SEO. The keywords you use tell the search engines what your content is all about.

Google and other search engines have a sophisticated algorithm that helps them to suggest the best content available their users.

Search engines filter through content on the web by the keywords in the content of a post and what the user types in the search bar.

For example, if a person is looking for a recipe for a chocolate cake they might type something like this in the search bar, “Best chocolate cake recipes”.

The search engines will filter through all the content on the web that has the keywords “chocolate cake recipes” and suggest the posts with the best content.

There is more to SEO than just keywords, but keywords play a significant role.

So how does consistent blogging help SEO and improve your Page Rankings in the search results?

The more content you write, the more keywords your site will rank for.

This makes it easier for people to find you online.

Search engines will also start to see you as an authority in your niche and will start to recommend your site to more people.

Blogging Drives More Traffic with Great Content

Now that you know how important blogging is, you will want to concentrate on writing great content.

What is great content?

Great content will have a different meaning for everyone.

Just like art, everyone has different tastes.

So how can you write great content that people will want to read?

Here are some helpful tips:

Ideal Blog Post Frequency

I often hear arts ask, “How often should I blog?

There is no easy answer to this question.

One thing is for sure, quality content outweighs quantity.

I have learned this the hard way when I started my artist blog.

I heard many people say that you must blog daily if you would like to have your site ranked high in the search engines.

I wanted my site to rank so that is what I did. I posted new content every day, seven days a week.

I did this for about six months.

The results I received were less than I was hoping for.

At that point, I knew I had to make a change in my strategy.

I decided to reduce the number of posts I was writing and focus on writing more in-depth content.

After six months my traffic increased dramatically.

Instead of receiving 1,000 page views a month, I started to see 25,000 page views a month and the number continues to grow.

According to Neil Patel:

Alex from CalorieSecrets.com grew his blog traffic to 450K visitors a month by publishing high-quality blog posts.

Here’s a breakdown of how the traffic on CalorieSecrets.com kept rising with the number of published blog posts.

You can see by my example and Alex’s example you need both high-quality content and more published posts.

The best way to find out how often you should be blogging is by experimenting and reviewing the results you are receiving for your actions.

In time you will discover what works best for your niche and audience.

Conclusion:

Consistent blogging drives more traffic to your artist blog.

The more people who visit your artist blog, the higher your chance will be to land a sale.

Building an online presence will take a lot of work. The work you put into it will be rewarded by selling more art.

Develop a blogging strategy today and start implementing it immediately. The success of your art business depends on it.
