How Artists Sell More Art By Failing

Is there a difference between failing and quitting? Do you feel like you have failed if a strategy did not go as planned? In this post, You will discover how artists sell more art by failing.

How Artists Sell More Art By Failing

I would like to start by defining a few common words we use on a daily basis.

Dictionary.com defines fail as:

to fall short of success or achievement in something expected, attempted, desired, or approved:

Example: The experiment failed because of poor planning

Dictionary.com defines quit as:

to give up or resign; let go; relinquish:

Example: He quit his claim to the throne. She quit her job

Dictionary.com defines succeed as:

to accomplish what is attempted or intended:

Example: We succeeded in our efforts to start the car

There is a difference between failing and quitting as well as a misconception that a failed attempt is negative.

Failing is not a bad thing. In fact, failing is what makes us stronger.

When you fall short of your expectations, you have the ability to assess the outcome so you can make a wiser decision.

The bottom line is that when you have a failed effort you are one step closer to your goals. That is if you can learn from the failed attempt.

Here is a famous quote from Robert F. Kennedy about failing.

“Only those who dare to fail greatly can ever achieve greatly.” ~ Robert F. Kennedy

Isn’t that a powerful statement?

If you are willing to try something new and not afraid of failing you have the ability to achieve greatness.

My definition of not achieving a goal is when someone does not take a chance or they quit prior to reaching the end.

Never give up on your dreams and goals. Life only gives us one chance.

Proud To Fail

Many people take it personally when a project crashes.

Do not let yourself feel bad or take it personally when a plan falls short.

Let the failed attempt be the fuel that drives you closer to your end game.

Be proud that you created a strategy and have produced a lesson that will contribute to your personal and professional growth.

“Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently.” ~ Henry Ford

Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again. How powerful is that statement?

Create a strategy, learn from the outcome, create a better strategy. This is how artists sell more art by failing.

They do not take a failed attempt personal. Instead, they learn and grow.

Dream Big

What is life without a dream?

It would be like only having vanilla ice cream for dessert for your entire life.

Yes, vanilla ice cream might sound good at times but will soon become very boring if that is all you have.

Live your dreams and dream big.

” Stay true to yourself, yet always be open to learn. Work hard, and never give up on your dreams, even when nobody else believes they can come true but you. These are not clichés but real tools you need no matter what you do in life to stay focused on your path.”

~ Phillip Sweet

Stay true to yourself.

Your dreams are your and nobody else’s.

Do not allow others to shape your dreams.

Work hard and work towards your dreams and goals.

Learn how to stay focused and motivated even through tough times.

No Perfect Plan

Understanding there is no perfect plan is how artists sell more art by failing.

They believe in themselves and the decisions they make.

They are willing to learn and adjust.

You can do the same.

  • Believe in yourself.
  • Believe in your dreams.
  • Understand there is no perfect plan.
  • Be willing to learn and adjust.

Conclusion:

This is an exciting time for you. It is the beginning of a new year and you have a clean slate to work with.

This is your year to shine and start working towards your dreams.
