Do find it hard to stay motivated? Are you falling behind because you lack inspiration? I this post, I will share with you some tips on finding inspiration and motivation.
Finding Inspiration and Motivation
Even if you love your job, it can be tough to find daily inspiration and motivation. However, when you can wake up each day inspired and ready to go, your art business and personal life will flourish. There are great advantages to finding inspiration and motivation every day.
There will be times that you will struggle.
You might find it difficult to decide what you will paint or draw next.
Some days you will struggle to go into your creative zone.
We are all human. We all have good days, bad day, stressful days and days we just need a break.
Here are some tips to help you stay motivated to get your job done.
Gratitude accomplishes amazing things.
One way to wake up motivated and inspired is to create a habit of gratitude.
Journal the things you’re grateful for at the end of every day. Write down everything you accomplished.
Maybe you sold a painting or finished a painting you were working on for a while.
Did you accomplish everything you set out to do?
Did your blog traffic increase or did you get new followers on Instagram?
Write it all down at the end of the night. Go to bed feeling accomplished and proud.
Create a habit of gratitude and you’ll establish a positive and energetic mindset. There is so much to be grateful for.
Set small goals
Long-term goals are great. However, when a goal is far off in the future, it’s tough to find the motivation to achieve them.
Smaller goals are achievable and can be inspiring. Set daily or weekly goals to spur inspiration and motivation.
Humans feel a sense of pride when they accomplish a task. Write a daily to-do list and cross off everything you finished.
At the end of the day, you can sit back feeling good when you look at everything you got done.
Do what you love first
Getting into a rut is easy. You wake in the morning, have your coffee, check your emails, go on Facebook and start working.
The thing you love to do most is often down on your priority list.
This makes starting your day less than exhilarating.
However, if you rearrange your daily routine and do what you love first, then getting out of bed is easy and exciting. This is ok once in a while for a boost of motivation.
Do not forget to do the chores that have to be accomplished that you are not fond of doing.
Some days are just tough to get through.
Instead of trying to avoid them or forcing yourself to push through them, reward yourself.
Rewards help you stay focused on the result and the silver lining. A reward doesn’t have to be huge, like a trip to Disney.
Sometimes a simple reward like your favorite coffee drink at the local coffee shop can be enough to help you stay positive and inspired all day long.
One great way to stay inspired and motivated is to be surrounded by inspiration.
Listen to inspiring music.
Create a home office that you enjoy spending time in.
Have photos of your family in several places.
Surround yourself with the things you love.
It’ll make each and every day so much more enjoyable.
Take time off
When most people think about taking time off, they look at annual vacations. However, it’s important to take more time off than just a week or two a year. Consider taking time off each week or month. Even a few hours or a day or two can make a difference. It gives you time to recharge and find that source of inspiration and motivation.
