If you are having a difficult time driving traffic to your artist blog, you are not alone. It is a daily job for every artist selling art online. In this post, you will discover easy social media strategies that drive traffic to art blogs.

It is safe to say that if you would like to be successful in selling your art online, you will have to focus on blogging.

When I started selling art online I didn’t have to blog to drive traffic to my artist website.

All I had to do was write keyword rich descriptions and people would find me.

There were some other tactics I used but the keyword rich descriptions were the money-maker.

It is more difficult to build a following today because of all the competition working for the same goals.

If you are still putting your art blog on the back-burner you will want to take a few minutes to read Carolyn Edgecomb’s post, Blogging Statistics: 52 Reasons Your Company Blog is Worth the Time and Effort.

How To Increase Website Traffic Through Social Media

Now that you are motivated to start your art blog, let’s talk about how you can use social media to help you drive traffic to your site.

Social Media Profiles

Your social media profiles help your readers to understand more about you and what you have to offer.

Including your art blog URL on all personal and business profiles will help to encourage people reading your bio to visit your art blog.

Take advantage of this space. It will take you less than a minute to add your URL to your profiles and it will help you to drive traffic to your blog.

Personal Facebook Profile

Did you know that you can add your Facebook Business Page to your Facebook Personal Profile?

This is an easy way to build brand awareness with your friends and family.

All you have to do is click on Edit Profile and then click on Add a Workplace. Type in the name of your business page and fill out the rest of the fields.

Instagram Bio

Instagram is becoming more popular but it is a difficult platform to use to drive traffic to your art blog.

There is a place that you are allowed to add a URL and that is on your Instagram Bio.

A great strategy that some of my artist friends have told me is to change your art blog URL frequently on your Instagram Bio.

This will allow you to feature different pages of your artwork and blog posts.

Your following will be more willing to click on the link if they know there will be something new to read.

Pin Blog Posts

Pinterest is a great platform to generate a lot of traffic.

I receive more traffic from Pinterest than I do from Facebook, Twitter and YouTube combined.

One strategy that has worked well for me is pinning directly from my art blog.

The Social Warfare Plugin (affiliate link) had made it easy for me to hide large Pinterest friendly images on my posts and pin them to my Pinterest Boards.

When other people pin from my site they will also have the choice to pin the Pinterest image I have created using Canva.

Comment On Other Blogs

Commenting on other blogs that relate to your niche is another great way to build brand awareness and generate blog traffic.

Most comment sections will have a place for you to include a URL that will link back to your artist blog.

People will be willing to click on your link if you leave thoughtful comments that support the writer’s thoughts.
