How do you define success? How do you achieve success? Before you start selling your art, you will want to have a clear vision of where you would like to go. Take some time to answer, “How do you define an artist’s success?
How Do You Define An Artist’s Success
How do you define success?
The only correct answer to the question, “How do you define an Artist’s success?” is your answer. We all have different definitions of success. My thoughts might be totally different than yours, and that is ok. As long as you have an idea of what success means for you, you will then be able to start working towards it.
Some people feel that they will reach success when they have financial stability or monetary gain. For others, it might be recognition or having their art displayed in a museum. As you can see, the definition of success is subjective and personal. Success is about having the right mindset.
I want to share with you some of my favorite quotes from some very successful people.
“To succeed in life, you need two things: ignorance and confidence.” ~ Mark Twain
“It is the satisfaction of doing it for yourself and motivating others to work with you in bringing it about. It is about the fun, innovation, creativity with the rewards being far greater than purely financial.” ~ Richard Branson.
“Success means having the courage, the determination, and the will to become the person you believe you were meant to be.” ~ George Sheehan
“Success is one percent inspiration, ninety-nine present perspiration.” Tomas Edison.
“Don’t wait until everything is just right. It will never be perfect. There will always be challenges, obstacles, and less than perfect conditions. So what. Get started now. With each step you take, you will grow stronger and stronger, more and more skilled, more and more self-confident and more and more successful.” ~ Mark Victor Hansen
All of these quotes are different but still have a common core. They are all about self-improvement, nothing to do with monetary gains. There is nothing wrong with having a number that you would like to hit, but success is more than the amount of money an individual has in their bank account.
Conclusion:
How do you define success as an artist? Take some time to wrap your head around this question. The answer will define you as a person and your core values. Your answer will be the fuel for your motivation.
