Commission A Drawing by Artist Dave Nevue:
Graphite portraits of your pets, animals, and wildlife from photographs. Custom drawings make wonderful gifts and keepsakes.
All graphite drawings are done on Bristol board.
I use a fixative after the drawing is complete to protect the drawing. I then will put the drawing in a basic black frame for more protection during shipment. You can then enjoy your drawing once you receive your shipment.

I look forward to drawing a keepsake of your loved one.
Merchandise and prints will also be available of your pet’s portrait for your friends and family to purchase.
Email me your photos (firstname.lastname@example.org) (You can copy and paste the email address to send me an email through your email service). The more detail in the photo will determine the detail in the drawing.
Here are some helpful tips on taking a photo:
Get as close to your pet as possible. If your camera has a zoom lens, use it to zoom in until the dog’s head and shoulders fill the frame.
Taking the photo at your pet’s eye-level will give the best angle.
Take many photos, a few head-shot close-ups and a few half and full body shots. Try different angles: Head-on, side view, three-quarter view.
Use natural light, bright shade, if possible. Avoiding the flash not only helps avoid the dreaded “red-eye” but also prevents flattening out the shading that can really make your pet’s portrait pop off the page.
If you are using a digital camera, take the photos at the highest quality/resolution that your camera allows. I will use the digital files.
After your photos are emailed I will review them and contact you and discuss what photo will work best. If there are no photos I can use I will go over with you what will make a better photo for your portrait.
