Are you trying to decide if you have what it takes to be successful selling art? In this post discover the business mindset that successful artists have.
What is a Business Mindset
Successful people create unique paths that lead them to their end goal.
Every path will have different obstacles that will need to be addressed.
The successful person will continue traveling down their path until they reach their final destination.
This is the mindset of an entrepreneur.
Do you have a business mindset?
Are you willing to do whatever it takes to reach your final destination?
“The difference between winning and losing is most often not quitting.” —Walt Disney
People who are successful are dedicated, disciplined and focused. They know exactly what they are working for and they will not stop until they succeed.
Anyone that tells you that it is easy to start and operate a business is lying to you. In fact, it takes a lot of work and effort.
With dedication, hard work, and the ability to analyze what is working and what is not working anyone can become very successful.
Walt Disney said it perfectly, “The difference between winning and losing is most often not quitting.”
Here is a man who started with nothing but a dream. He created a business that is still enjoyed by families all over the world. His path was not easy. He had to change his direction many times during his journey to reach his final destination. He went through many tough times, but he never quit. He would not listen to anyone that told him he could not achieve his dreams. He worked hard and stayed true to himself and his dreams.
Walt started many businesses that failed. Most people would give up after failing one time, but Walt did not give up, instead, he learned from his mistakes and started again. You will find this to be a common trait that entrepreneurs share. You cannot be afraid of failing. Learning from a situation that did not work as planned will make your business stronger.
I recommend watching Walt’s documentary. It is very motivational. You will get a good sense of the sacrifices that it takes to start a business. After watching his story you will know if you have what it takes to start and operate a successful art business.
Ask yourself these questions to find out if owning a business is for you.
- Why are you doing this?
- What are your financial needs to live?
- Do you have your family’s support?
- Are you willing to put in the time and money into starting a business?
- Do you have products to sell?
- How much will it cost to start your business?
- How long can you last before you start turning a profit?
- What is your definition of success?
If you have what it takes to run an art business there are two steps you will need to do before you can start a business.
First, you will need to set a plan and write down your goals. Every successful entrepreneur has a clear vision of their goals and a plan to achieve the goals that they have set. Your goals and plans will change during your journey. You will need to stay focused on your goals and assess the outcome.
While you are creating your business plan you will want to learn about the legal entity of your business.
I recommend for you to talk to a professional for advice.
If you have a business mindset you will become a successful artist.
Do you have what it takes?
Do you have an artist business mindset?
Conclusion:
You can achieve anything you set out to achieve. You just have to believe in yourself. Everything else will fall into place.
