Marketing and promoting art is work and at times can become discouraging and frustrating.

How Artist Blogs Generate Traffic
People go to search engines because they are looking for an answer or solution to a problem they might have.
Google and other search engines like Bing and Yahoo will refer content that best answers the query in the search bar (also known as keywords to marketers).
The best content that contains the answer or solution to a problem is ranked the highest in search results.
If the reader found the content valuable, they will view more blog posts and pages on the site.
In time the reader will start to remember the name of the site and frequently visit the website or blog because the site offers valuable content.
It is safe to say that the more blog posts you create, the better your chance of being found online becomes.
It is also safe to say that if you would like a reader to revisit your artist blog, you will need to produce valuable content.
Can Artists Generate Traffic With List Posts And Sell More Art
Yes, it is possible to generate traffic with list posts and sell more art.
I have written multiple list posts that drive traffic to my site. Some of the posts are four-plus years old and still drive traffic.
Why do lisp posts perform so well?
Most people prefer list posts because they short and to the point.
The reader can get the information they are looking for relatively quickly.
If the reader is interested in a more detailed post, they will search for something more specific.
Producing content that attracts people searching for a quick answer as well as blog posts with more detailed answers to their questions will increase your sales because people will become aware that you are an artist.
What Is A List Post
A list post is a blog post that highlights key points about a particular topic.
Many bloggers write list posts because they generate a lot of traffic to their site.
Some of the most popular and shared (viral) content on the web are list posts.
Here are some examples of list posts that I have written:

You can see from the examples above that the reader will get precisely what the title states.

List posts resonate well with people who do not have a lot of time and are looking for a quick solution.
How many times have you a quick solution to a problem you had?
Maybe you wanted to learn how to clean your paintbrushes so they would last longer, or perhaps you were trying to discover how to package an original painting for shipping.
You didn’t need a 3-page essay explaining how paintbrushes were originated, and you just wanted to know how to clean a paintbrush or what to buy for cleaning paintbrushes.
Your objective for blogging is to have your target audience click on your blog posts so you can build their trust and turn them into loyal art collectors.
Why Do List Posts Work
- They are easy to read. Most people read content on mobile devices on the go. It is easier for them to get the information that they are looking for by scanning through the list.
- Straight to the point. List posts get right to the point without rambling on. There will be a time and place that more detail will be needed. People interested in just the facts gravitate towards list posts.
- Valuable information. Most list posts share a strong point of view on a topic if there is something that you feel strongly about, a list post might be the best option for you.
- Easy to digest. There are many times that I go to a post, and the paragraphs are too long. I find myself clicking off of that post very quickly. With list posts, you can digest the information quickly. Most points can be made within just a few sentences.
How Does List Posts Generate More Traffic
People live busy lives, and list posts are a great way for them to gather information relatively quickly.
Another reason lists posts are popular is due to searches done on mobile devices.
People are surfing the web while they are waiting in line at the grocery store, in the waiting room at the dentist’s office, children’s events, and even during commercials.
When there is limited time to digest information, list posts work well.
Keep in mind that there will be times when your reader wants a more detailed post.
For those instances, you will want to write longer posts.
