There is one thing that is guaranteed to connect you with your audience. The one blogging tip you will want to focus on is learning your writer’s voice.

Blogging Tip That Works Learn Your Unique Writers Voice

Writing can be a challenge for many people. I was one of them. I struggled with every aspect of writing. When I started writing articles for my blog, it would take me two hours to write a few hundred words. Most of my time was staring at the screen.

It is sometimes painful to reread what I wrote in the past. It has been a journey, and I can honestly say that I enjoy writing now. I am not saying that I am a great writer, but I can say that it is not as painful as it once was. I knew that creating content would build my business, so I had no choice but to write.

I heard about an author named Ann Handley on a podcast show and decided to purchase her audible book Everybody Writes. I must have listened to the audible a dozen times while I was working on my commissioned drawings. I can not tell you how much I have learned from her book.

There is one thing that she said that resonated in my brain. “Everyone can be a good writer; it just takes practice.” She could not have said it better.

If you struggle with writing as I did, you might want to consider purchasing Ann’s book or audible. It might be one of the best books that you will purchase. Why? Because if you want to build an online art business you will have to write and you will have to write a lot. Her book is motivating, inspiring and educational.

What Is Writing

Writing is a form of communicating. You are providing your thoughts as a text document for someone to consume in a different location. You want someone across the world to know you are the person who wrote what they are reading. Just as if they were looking at your art. You would want them to know that you are the artist.

The choice of words that you use and the structure of your sentences is what will be the difference between being unique or you being like someone else. Would you like to be known as an artist with a unique style or have people believe that your work looks like another artist’s work?

When you are writing your posts, do not try to be like everyone else. Tell your story in your words. Write as if you are talking to someone who you know. Be yourself and let people get to know who you are. When people get to know you, they will begin to trust you and want to purchase your work. Most people buy art because they have a connection with the artist and know the story behind the painting or drawing. Let them in and tell your story as only you can.

Blogging Tip – Read your Post Out Loud

Try this exercise. After you have written a post, do not publish it. Put it away for a day. The next day read your post out loud. If you feel comfortable speaking what you wrote, then it is your voice. If you are having a difficult time reading it out loud, then you will need to revise it.

Many businesses make the mistake thinking that the logo, text, and colors create a brand. They do understand that the content they share is a big part of the brand. The content is what tells the story of the business. A well-designed logo is nice, but the words are what will paint the picture.

Marketing-School.org wrote,“A company’s brand represents their market identity – who they are, what they do, what kind of quality they provide, their reputation for trustworthiness, and more.”

A story is what people will remember about a particular business. The logo is what reminds people of the story.

Conclusion:

It is no secret that if you want to sell art online, you will have to connect with your audience and write a lot of content. The one blogging tip that is guaranteed to build trust is to write like you are talking to them in person.
