Are you struggling with your social media accounts? Are you finding it difficult to build your social media following? In this post, I am going to share with you 7 social media marketing tips and tricks that will help you to build your following.

Social Media Marketing Tips And Tricks

Businesses large and small have learned that social media platforms are a great way to build brand awareness to people around the world.

The problem is that there are so many social media platforms to work with, there is not enough time in the day to learn how to market or maintain them.

The best way to build an audience on social media networks is to discover which platforms your audience is on and focus on those platforms.

7 Social Media Marketing Tips And Tricks

Here are 7 social media marketing tips and tricks to help you get real results from some of the most popular social media networks.

Amplify Shares And Likes On Facebook With Images

The truth is, if your posts on Facebook are not receiving likes, shares or comments you are wasting your time. You will not see your following or art sales increase. You need engagement on your posts if you want to grow your following on Facebook.

An easy way to do this is by using images to expand engagement on your status updates.

If you want to have your audience comment on your posts, ask them questions. Adding a question to a simple image background will produce better results than text alone.

Work With One Or Two Social Media Networks

You will see better results by working with one or two social media networks instead of trying to work with too many.

Social networks are a real-time networking event that allows you to build credibility with your following by providing a method for discussion and feedback. You will need to dedicate some time each day to read comments and respond to them.

You can not expect to spend all day responding to everyone on multiple sites. There are not enough hours in the day.

Find one or two social media sites that your audience hangs out on and become an expert on those two platforms.

This will allow you to build relationships with your audience and build your tribe.

Connect With Influencers

Influencers are generally very active on their blog and social media sites. Getting on their radar can be challenging but very rewarding when they notice you.

It is important to understand that they are very busy and it might take some time for them to recognize you. They probably have hundreds of emails a day from people who are trying to connect with them.

Why should you connect with influencers?

According to Melissa Coito:

“Bloggers and social media influencers are trusted and respected voices who can help get your product, service, or brand in front an untapped (and potentially large) audience. They have vast and engaged followings across a variety of social channels, including Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, and Facebook.”

The bottom line is that they can help you get noticed by a large audience.

How can you connect with your influencers?

This can be tricky. One of the best ways is to help them by supporting and sharing their message and content on your blog and social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.

This will help you in two ways.

First, you will be providing value to your audience by sharing content from reputable people. Just make sure that what you are sharing reflects your brand and is helpful to your audience.

Second, your influencers will take notice that you are sharing their content which helps them to build their brand.

It is important to not expect something from your influencers. You should not ask them for anything. Doing so will turn them away. If you do not hassle them and you keep supporting their content they will eventually want to learn more about you. This is how relations are built with influencers.

How many posts should you share?

There is no magic number.

In fact, they might never contact you and that is ok because you are still providing value to your audience.

Power Of Images

You have heard the saying, “A picture is worth a thousand words.” Pinterest’s growth can support this statement.

Images are not just on Pinterest, they also grab readers attention on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Google+ just to name a few.

It is important to take the time to pick the best image for your blog posts.

The image can help the reader better understand the content and have it be more memorable.

If the reader enjoys your post, they will be more willing to share an image that represents the message on their social media sites which will help to promote your content.

When choosing your image, keep in mind that images are open to interpretation. Before uploading an image to your blog or social media sites ask yourself, “Does this image describe my message?”

Adding simple text to your images could help to bring attention to your images. Make sure that the text can be read on small mobile devices.

Here are a couple of my favorite free image sites I use for my blog posts.

Partner Up In Real Life

Take some time during the month to connect with people who are involved in your niche via phone or Skype.

This is a great way to create a small mastermind group and partnership. You can develop a monthly plan that will help grow both businesses.

Power comes in numbers, so team up with people who are involved with the same niche you are in.

Live Video

Videos are becoming more popular every day. Facebook is introducing a new platform dedicated to videos, LinkedIn now allows users to upload native videos. All of the signs are telling us to start incorporating video into our marketing strategy.

If you want to connect with your audience create a live video. Promote to everyone when you will be live and tell them what platform they can join you on.

Repurpose the live video by embedding the video on your blog and other social media sites.

Be consistent with your schedule. People will start to look forward to your live broadcasts.

Use Google Analytics

Google analytics does more than tell you what posts are performing well on your art blog.

You will also have data that tells you how people are landing on your site.

Every month look at what social media sites are driving the most traffic to your blog.

To find this information, log into your Google Analytics.

On the left-hand side click on Acquisition > Social > Overview.

This information will tell you if your strategy is working or not.

You can analyze the information further by assessing the analytics your social media sites offer. Discover what type of posts are producing the best results. This information will allow you to be more productive with your time.
