There is a tremendous amount of information online regarding how to build a successful Pinterest Business account.  If you are not careful you could easily find yourself overwhelmed and confused with all of the strategies you read.

That is why I have put together a list of the most popular strategies used by some of the best Pinners on Pinterest.

I have implemented each strategy that I am highlighting below and saw great results, however, I do want to mention that not every strategy will produce the same results for everyone.

Give them a try to see what works best for you.

If a strategy works keep doing it and if you do not see the results you were hoping for, simply get rid of it and try something different.

Pinterest Business Tools

There are so many tools available to help make our days a little easier.

I discovered two Pinterest tools that have helped me grow my Pinterest Business account faster than I could have ever imagined.

The first tool I discovered was Social Warfare. (affiliate link)

Social Warfare is a social sharing plugin for WordPress that allows you to create and hide images that will be posted on people’s newsfeed when the share your content.

This feature allows you to brand your online art business instead of images being posted from your posts that do not reflect your business.

The next tool I have discovered is Tailwind. (affiliate link)

Tailwind is a Pinterest and Instagram scheduling tool that also includes Smart Scheduling, Analytics & Monitoring, Content Discovery, Tribes, Hashtag Suggestions and more.

If you are interested in saving a lot of time scheduling on Pinterest and Instagram while discovering what strategies are working for you so you can make better marketing decisions than Tailwind is for you.

Pin Multiple Times Throughout The Day

There are many beliefs on how often one should pin for best results. The one strategy almost everyone can agree on is that you will see better results by pinning multiple times throughout the day so that you will so your pins will be seen on the Pinterest feed throughout the day.

You will hear some people say that they see the best results when they pin 10 times a day while others benefit more by pinning 20 times a day.

I recommend you to start with 3-5 pins a day for a couple of weeks and analyze the results. After you are in the habit of pinning on a daily basis add a few more pins, continue to do this until you hit your sweet spot.

At this point, you might be saying to yourself that you do not have enough time to visit Pinterest several times a day. This is where Tailwind. (affiliate link) comes into play. I found it difficult and time-consuming to pin throughout the day also until I started using Tailwind. Now I only spend ten minutes to schedule pins for an entire week. Once a week I visit Tailwind to review my analytics and schedule pins for the upcoming week. That is all it takes me to make a presence on Pinterest throughout the day.

Pin Other People’s Content

You might be wondering why you would want to pin other people’s content on your Pinterest boards and there are actually a few reasons you will want to do so.

The first reason you will want to pin other content is that you want to be pinning daily. It is better to pin other people’s content than no content at all.

Consistent pinning benefits you, so fill in the gaps with other content that will resonate with your followers. There’s no magic ratio of others’ content to yours. You only need to pin others’ content if you’re out of content to pin! (Source:  Louise Myers)

The second reason is that you want to be seen as an authority in your niche. Pinning other content that relates to your brand will help to back up your thoughts and your followers will trust what you have to say.

Another reason is that it is a great way to connect with other experts in your field.

Optimize Your Pin Descriptions

Pinterest is a search engine that recommends pins to views by the keywords they type in the search bar, similar to Google.

The description of your pins should include the keywords that describe what your pins are about. This will help more people find your content on Pinterest’s newsfeed.

Optimize Your Profile And Boards

Your Pinterest profile and Pinterest boards are also searchable.

If you want people to discover your boards and profile, give them names that people are most likely to search for.

Write a keyword rich description for each board. This will help people to discover your boards and explain what type of content they will find when they click on the board.

Hide Boards Not Relating To Your Brand

Pinterest is filled with valuable information that you might be interested in.

It is best to create a “hidden” board to pin all of the content that does not relate to your art business brand.

For example, you might want to have a board for favorite recipes. This information does not support an artist brand so it would be best to hide the board.

When you hide a board only you can view it.

Consistency Wins The Race

It takes time to see results from Pinterest.

Keep in mind that everything you pin will be searchable. So what you pin today can be discovered a year from now, five years from now and so on.

Even though you might not see results for the first couple of months, keep at it. All of your efforts will be paid off.
