Not all strategies will work the same for all artists.

If it works, great if it doesn’t try a different blogging idea.

These tips will help you generate traffic, build a loyal following, and have your artwork seen by thousands of people.
The tips that I am going to share with you are standard practices from well-known bloggers.
It is always a good idea to learn from experienced people, but that does not mean that you cannot break the rules once and a while.
Have fun with your blog and find what works best with your audience.

1. Short Paragraphs
Writing blog posts is different from writing books. Books tend to have longer articles than blog posts do.
One of the reasons is because when people are reading blog posts, they are usually trying to gather information quickly.
They might be on break or in a situation where they do not have ample time to relax and enjoy a long story.
Shorter paragraphs make it easier for the reader to skim and obtain the information that they were looking for.
The average lengths for blog post paragraphs are between two and six sentences.
This does not mean that you can not write a paragraph longer than six sentences.
If it takes more than six sentences to get your point across, write more.
2. Write-In First Person And Second Person
Many writers make a mistake in writing in the first person, second person, and third-person within one article.
First-person is writing from the author’s point of view. An example is, “I just tried a new drawing technique that I would like to share.”
Second-person uses “you” in the sentence. An example would be, “You should try this new drawing technique.”
Writing with first-person and second-person together is common among bloggers. It becomes less common to write with all three perspectives.
Think of it as if you were talking to a friend. Write about how your conversation would be over a cup of coffee with your best friend.
3. Avoid Simple Spelling Mistakes
Most writing software has spellcheck, such as Office Word.
I also use Grammarly. Grammarly is an online grammar checker with spellcheck. It has made the writing process for me so much easier.
Even with Grammarly and spell check, I do have to be careful of simple spelling mistakes.
I have made it a habit of proofreading every paragraph that I write before I go any further. This might not work best for you, but it has helped me catch some mistakes that I was able to address.
Before I post any articles, I have my wife edit the articles. It is helpful to have someone proofread your work. Even though you might reread your work, there still might be some things that you will overlook.
Be careful not to contradict what you are saying in your posts. Nothing will confuse your readers quicker than you contradicting a point that you are trying to make. You will lose credibility for your articles, and it will jeopardize your brand.
Stay true to your brand values. If you are not sure about how you feel about a particular topic, it would be better if you do not discuss it at that time.
5. Tell Your Story
Nothing will connect a reader to a writer quicker than a good story.
People will remember a good story over just plain facts. Use your life experiences to connect with your readers.
Write about things that you are passionate about. Readers will know if you have a passion for what you are saying or if you are blowing hot air.
If they feel that you are sincere, they will feel more confident purchasing from you.
These writings tips for art blogs will help you to structure your posts for your readers. The best way to get better at writing is to write. Spend a little time every day to write.
