Are you getting discouraged with your art sales and traffic to your website? Don’t be alarmed, you are not alone. In this article discover how pillar content generates traffic to your artist website that could lead to sales.
Art Marketing Basics: Pillar Content Generates Traffic
There is no magic number of articles that you will need to write before you will start to see more traffic to your site. The incline of traffic will build over time.
As you keep creating content you are opening more doors for people to land on your site. Unlike social media networks your content will live on until the end of time.
If you post a new piece of artwork that you have just created on Facebook, it might be in the top news feed of your followers for four hours. After that it will just become a memory.
If you write an article about the new artwork that you have created and posted it on your art blog, it will be available in the search engines until the end of time. If you post another story about a different piece of art, you now double the chance of your site being found.
The chance of people finding your website will keep increasing as long as you keep providing pillar content on a consistent schedule.
I do use social media to help build brand awareness and to engage with my audience, but I spend more quality time working on articles that I know will build my business over time.
Pillar Content Generates Traffic
Let me give you an example on how the content of a blog will build traffic.
Let’s use apple oil paintings for an example.
I did a search for apple oil painting on Google. At the time I wrote this there were 1,720,000 results found. That will be hard to get noticed with just one article.
But if the artist wrote these articles:
- Red apple oil painting
- Green apple oil painting
- Basket of apples oil painting
- Fresh apple oil painting
- Refreshing apple oil painting
- Honeycrisp apple painting
- Red delicious apple painting
- Golden delicious apple painting
- Apple paintings by (name of artist)
- Apple oil paintings by (name of the artist)
As you can see if you only write one article the chance of being found is slim. However, the more content that you write the greater your chances of being found are. If you write on a regular schedule you will be building a solid business over time.
Social media posts are here today and gone tomorrow.
Your blog posts can be found until the end of time.
That is the reason that I blog on a regular schedule. I know that every post that I write will keep building my art business.
I knew that it would not happen overnight, but I trusted what the outcome would be. I knew where my marketing energy needed to be to build my business. Failing was not an option. I work hard and I work smart. I am now taking commissioned orders in a year in advance.
You can build your business just like I did. All you have to do is stay focused, consistent and patience. Know that everything that you are doing is building your business stronger.
Content is the new marketing. It is easy in today’s world for people to find the information thanks to the internet.
You want to provide pillar content to attract readers to your site. The more people that land on your site the better your chances are to land a sale.
If you are looking for more traffic on your site, the answer is simple. Pillar content generates traffic. Start writing today.
